Rob Sanders pointed me today at the Political Compass. I wondered where I sat in the spectrum. Well this is where. I felt quite a cringe reading some of the questions. I wasn't surprised that I was more libertarian in my views than authoritarian but I was surprised to see myself slightly more to the left than the right.

I'm not too far from you Greg:
its funny how animals in the wild like grizzly bears know they must kick out the cubs after 2-3 years of care, knowing many will die, but it is essential to learn how to survive,
i guess it is like pilot training, it is one thing to learn to fly with an instructor sitting besides you
it is another to go solo
I am awfully close to the center, but in Gandhi's corner.
Definitely interesting — thanks for the diversion, Greg! It put me exactly where I thought I would end up going into it — Libertarian Right (I am a registered Libertarian and used to be a registered Republican so this makes perfect sense):
No surprises for me.
(Though one might wonder if this somewhat US-centric test applies to non-US folk…)
